Housing Choice Voucher Program
A Public Hearing has been scheduled for September 21, 2017 at 6:00 pm at the CADA Administration Office, 120 Sessoms Drive, Rich Square, North Carolina to review the current Housing Choice Voucher Program PHA Plan. Choanoke Area Development Association, Inc, of NC. (CADA) is the Public Housing Agency for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) in Bertie and Hertford Counties. This document is available for public review from August 7, 2017 until Sept. 21, 2017 at the following locations:

CADA Opens Housing Choice Voucher Program Waiting List September 27, 2017
Applications are on-line
Choanoke Area Development Association of NC, Inc. (CADA) will accept applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Rental Assistance Program for Bertie and Hertford Counties beginning September 27 and continuing until notice is published that the waiting list will be closed. The waiting list will be closed when 400 applications are completed. Only completed applications will be accepted.
The application process has changed. All applications must now be completed online.
The website for the application may be accessed by internet connections with home computers, smart phones, and public access sites such as public libraries, the CADA Community Connection Center in Rich Square or anyplace that has internet access. To apply online go to the following website https://choanoke.housingmanager.com and click on New Application, follow the prompts, and answer all questions.
In the event that you do not have internet access, the Community Connection Center at the CADA Office located at 120 SessomsDrive,Rich Square, NC is available Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.

On July 1, 2016, Choanoke Area Development Association of NC, Inc. (CADA) officially became the state designated Community Action Agency and Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) administrator for Martin County. As the state designated agency for the County, CADA’s Board of Directors was increased to include board members from Martin County. Community Action Agencies are required to have a tripartite board with representatives appointed by the County Commissioners, representatives elected from identified districts to speak for the low-income, and representatives from the community-at-large. The two Board Members appointed by Martin County Commissioners are Barbara Council and Tina Rodgers. The new Board Members elected by districts are Sheriqueenma Artis-Rodgers (District 1) and Carolyn Thompson (District 2). The Community-at-Large Representatives are Dr. Ann Britt, Martin County Community College and David Whitley, Martin County Chamber of Commerce.
