IN HOUSE NOTICE OF JOB OPENINGS

Choanoke Area Development Association of NC, Inc., (CADA) is seeking qualified applicants for the following position:

Program Operations Manager - 1 Position Rich Square.  Entry:  $19.49

Qualifications:

Four-year degree in Business, Child Development, or equivalent in education and experience.  Knowledge of NC Child Care Licensing requirements and inspections, and federal and state transportation codes and standards for children ages 0-6.  Knowledge of procurement policies and facility leasing / rental agreements and contracts.  Must maintain accurate records on cost estimates and expenditures.  Must have a valid NC Driver License.  Must have background and experience in the supervising of staff in an Early Childhood setting with good working knowledge of Early Childhood practices, principles and theory.  This person should also possess administrative skills and have the ability to work with other staff member and institutions. Has or will obtain Head Start recognized certification for safe playgrounds, facilities, and transportation.

Basic Functions:

Plan and coordinate the early childhood operational services to insure that facilities are safe, attractively well-staffed and developmentally conducive for child growth and development.  Serve as liaison between the program and transportation contractor.  Work closely with Education/Transition Services Managers to plan and implement child assessment activities.  Work closely with other Service Area Managers to carry out child operational services.  Work closely with CADA Rehab Specialist to ensure facilities regulations are adhered to and repairs and maintenance are addressed. Performs administrative and educational work developing, coordinating, and supervising Head Start Center management staff.

Child Development Teacher – 1 Position Hertford HS, 1 Position Halifax Comm. College HS, 1 Position Windsor HS (Lead Teacher) and 1 Position in Roanoke Rapids. 

42 week.  Entry: $11.39

Must possess one of the following credentials:  Graduate of a four year college with major in Child development / Early Childhood Education is desirable.  Associate Degree in Children Development, Child Development Associate Credential (NAEYC) or California Pre – School Certificate.  Working knowledge of good health practices.  Considerable knowledge of child growth and development and planning programs to appropriately meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of children.  Ability to establish rapport with children and their parents in order to obtain information concerning needs of individual children.  Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports.  Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions.  Experience in working with pre – school children in a nursery school kindergarten, or day care facility.  Possession of a valid health certificate issued by the County Health Department.

 

Teacher Assistant–42 week.  1 Position Scotland Neck HS, 1 Position Woodland HS, 2 Position in Roanoke Rapids.  Entry $9.37

Some experience in working with pre – school children in a nursery school, kindergarten or day care facility.  Completion of the 12th grade or high school equivalent.  One of the following is desired:  A.A. Degree in Child Development, Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), and Early Childhood Associate Degree.  Interest in and some knowledge and understanding of the needs and problems of low income or disadvantaged persons and of the community environment.  Some knowledge of child growth and development theories and principles.  Personal traits of warmth, sensitivity and caring toward children and families are required.
