Early Head Start/Head Start Opening Positions
Child Development Teacher 42 weeks- Entry: $11.90 (Northampton County)
Must possess one of the following credentials: Graduate of a four-year college with a major in Child Development / Early Childhood Education is desirable. Associate Degree in Children Development, Child Development Associate Credential (NAEYC) or California Pre – School Certificate. Working knowledge of good health practices. Considerable knowledge of child growth and development and planning programs to appropriately meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of children. Ability to establish rapport with children and their parents in order to obtain information concerning needs of individual children. Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports. Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions. Experience in working with preschool children in a nursery school kindergarten, or day care facility.
Teacher Assistant/ Bus Monitor 42 weeks -Entry $10.27 (Northampton County)
Some experience in working with pre – school children in a nursery school, kindergarten or daycare facility. Completion of the 12th grade or high school equivalent. One of the following is desired: A.A. Degree in Child Development, Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), and Early Childhood Associate Degree. Interest in and some knowledge and understanding of the needs and problems of low income or disadvantaged persons and of the community environment. Some knowledge of child growth and development theories and principles. Personal traits of warmth, sensitivity and caring toward children and families are required.
Bus Monitor 42 weeks-Entry $9.32
Some experience in working with pre-school children. Interest in and some knowledge and understanding of the needs and problems of low income or disadvantaged persons and of the community environment. Ability to read, write and to communicate effectively. Personal traits of warmth, sensitivity, and caring toward children and families are required. Possess a First Aid and infant and child CPR certificate (ARC) is preferred, or required within six (6) weeks of employment. A valid N.C. Driver's License is preferred.
Early Head Start Teachers 48 weeks-Entry $11.90 (Northampton County)
A four-year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education; or Infant/Toddler CDA with some training in public health. CNA I and II is preferred. Knowledge of child growth and development; best health practices; and programs to appropriately meet the physical, mental and social needs of children. Ability to plan appropriate activities and procure supplies and equipment. Good judgment and good record keeping are required. Must obtain a Certified Criminal Record check, a valid health certificate from Health Department, training in safety issues (e.g., reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and a valid NC Driver's License. Person must be fluent in the language spoken by the majority of the families served by the program.
Rehab Housing Specialist and Facilities Coordinator
CADA seeks an experienced construction coordinator for rehab housing programs administered by CADA. Candidates should have 1) Experience with housing/energy audits, write-ups, cost estimating, all phases of construction management including procurement, permits, reports and documentation required for government-funded rehab housing programs including ESFR, URP, WAP and USDA 504 Programs; 2) Skills/experience with web-based housing rehab management software; 3) Knowledge/experience with facilities management and code requirement; 4) Have or obtain BPI certification; college degree preferred. A combination of experience, education, certifications/trainings and willingness to acquire certifications will be considered.
