A Public Hearing has been scheduled for April 13, 2023 at 6:00 pm at the CADA Administration Office, 120 Sessoms Drive, Rich Square, North Carolina to review the current Housing Choice Voucher Program PHA Plan. Choanoke Area Development Association of North Carolina, Inc. (CADA) is the Public Housing Agency for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) in Bertie and Hertford Counties. This document is available for public review for February 28, 2023 until April 13, 2023 at the following locations:

Choanoke Area Development Association of NC, Inc. (CADA) has received funding from the US Department of Energy and the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency to weatherize homes and rehabilitate the homes of eligible residents in Bertie, Edgecombe, Halifax, Hertford, Martin, and Northampton Counties. CADA seeks local contractors in the following trades to implement weatherization standard measures: ECT’s, HVAC’s, Electricians, Plumbers, Insulation, and Incidental Repairs.

Choanoke Area Development Association (CADA) announces its intent to apply for funding of $476,398 through the Community Service Block Grant Anti-Poverty Plan for Fiscal Year 2022 – 2023. CADA’s proposed WorkPlan for this program encompasses services to low-income residents of Bertie, Halifax, Herford, Martin and Northampton Counties. The program focuses on a self-sufficiency component to assists low-income residents obtain assistance with education, employment and supportive services to rise above federal poverty guidelines and become self-sufficient. The proposal may be reviewed on the CADA’s website (www.nc-cada.org).
